The Croatian Commercial Court register which contains all data on every case were made available on the Internet today.
Presenting the project, president of the Croatian High Commercial Court, Srdjan Simac, said that the work of commercial courts was exceptionally important for the entire economy and in this way became available to parties in court proceedings and the public.
At the address www.vtsrh.hr, after entering the designation, year and number of the case, interested parties may learn the dates of submission of cases to the High Commercial Court, designation of judges, the start of work, registering a decision and sending a decision from the higher to a lower commercial court.
Apart from the fact that in this way the work of the court has become more transparent, the personnel will be unburdened so that they will no longer have to give out information by telephone about the status of certain cases, Simac said.
He added that in 2006, the number of backlogged cases on commercial courts had decreased by more than 50 percent. In the past several months, the High Commercial Court has managed to maintain the slight tendency of solving more cases than received.
Simac commended the good results of projects of reconciliation in court that had been introduced in eight county courts after a test run at the Commercial Court in Zagreb. The project will be introduced in another five commercial and three county courts.
The first second-instance settlement in Croatia was reached recently at the High Commercial Court, among the first in Europe, Simac said.
Present at the presentation of the web address were Justice Minister Ana Lovrin, Supreme Court president Branko Hrvatin, president of the Croatian Bar Association, leo Andreis, and representatives of court-appointed experts.
