“There are many empty offices and shops in the city of Zagreb which are owned by the city. No one knows the exact number and why these places are out of use “the president of the city council of HNS Dragan Kovacevic said at the press conference in Tratinska Street.
HNS Zagreb invited all the entrepreneurs, craftsmen and other citizens to look around and inform about the empty offices and shops. They can call the number 01 4852 962 or send an e-mail to: info@zagreb.hns.hr. They will start the initiative to put these places into use. They will ask the institutions in charge to offer the spaces for a symbolic price of one HRK.
Those who are interested in the idea should redecorate the places and hire people. Each and every office or shop can feed families and pay for the taxes. HNS would like to see if citizens are interested in this idea at all.
“The city administration knows how to decrease the salaries and social rights and they don’t know how to put the empty places into function. There will be problems with payments in the future period and such spaces are empty”, as Kovacevic concluded.
TomislavStojak, the vice president of Zagreb HNS said that the problem was not only the number of empty offices and shops but it is a much bigger issue. The whole property of the city is not managed in the right way. He blames the people who rule the city for such situation. (Mediaservis)
