HNS Head: MUP Disgracefully Manipulated Officer

The police officer ran around and paced until he was told it would be a good thing if he said he was injured, Cacic said.

ZAGREB, CROATIA – Croatian People`s Party – Liberal democrats (HNS) points out that all party`s strategic goals at the local elections have been realised. Party president Radimir Cacic said that unlike others, the HNS was absolutely precise and stated publically and clearly what their strategic goals were.

- The HNS has four mayors in the first round already, and the others in the second round stand a chance. We will be the key factor in Zagreb, control of the authorities` work – party president Radimir Cacic said.

Regarding the incident which occurred on election night in Zagreb, at the Zrinjevac Park parking area, when HNS member Alenka Kosisa Cicin Sain conflicted with a police officer, Cacic said that Mrs. Kosisa Cicin Sain was stresses because she was threatened with a gun.

- The minimum of my expectations is for the Croatian Interior Ministry (MUP) to start a process of checking the authorisation against its representative and to stop dealing with media manipulation. This man, when I arrived on the scene five minutes after the incident, was running around, pacing and remained like this until it was elaborated to him that it would be a good thing if he said he was injured. He then threw himself down on the stretcher. Disgraceful manipulation of the Interior Ministry – Cacic said, adding that he saw the footage of the officer in certain media.

President of the HNS club of representatives Vesna Pusic did not wish to guess the reasons why the representatives of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) failed to show up for the sitting of the Parliament`s Board for monitoring EU accession talks.

- Of course, I don`t know why the HDZ didn`t attend the sitting, but this questions the consensus of a great and important project – Pusic said, adding that the HDZ representatives should have announced they would not appear.
