Along with the price rise that hit the wallets of Zagreb citizens, the managers of Holding keep searching for ways to cut the salaries of their 13 thousand employees as well as to cancel their awards and bonuses. Although they are pretty persistent in their plans, they don’t get the understanding for such moves with the unions. They will continue to negotiate tomorrow.
- We asked the board to show us the savings in their rights, salaries or other benefits – Darko Kleinberger, the president of the unions’ negotiation coordination explained.
Holding is not completely ruined, but the functioning is burdened by the debts from the past. They have reached the sum of five billion kn and this could seriously threaten the payment of salaries. Therefore, the board wants to cancel awards.
- It’s easy for them to cancel the awards as they don’t stay at their positions for more than five years – Kleinberger explained. The amount of awards for this year is 50 mil kn – i.e. 700 kn for five years of work to 24 thousand kn for 40 years of work.
