How Twitter snitched Marija Lugaric

What is the power of short form and wide networking this time the vice-minister of science, education and sport Marija Lugaric revealed. Only one message on Twitter posted by her cast a shadow of entire Parliament discussion about the state budget, mass protests of dairymen,  a new round of cutbacks on rights through the Legislation on labor… ‘’I had enough f those lazy holly cows from MZOS’’ is what she wrote in unrestraint madness on Twitter. Later on she explained more that ‘’it is bizarre’’ to spent half of her working hours in forcing people to do –their jobs!

Maybe we will find it normal in a month or so that one minister darns other via Twitter, or that the prime minister replaces one of them same way, but for now this kind of directness and avoiding  conservative communication forms  still doesn’t feel right.

What this deputy of the minister of education Zeljko Jovanovic wanted to say to us, probably without second thoughts, by this short message on the public network? She ‘’had enough’’, after spending only two months being the executive and she already feels fatigue and satiation. She had enough of what? ‘’Lazy holly cows’’, as she threats her subservient associative by paying them insults. At the same time by this act of hers Marija Lunagric reminded that long experience among parliamentary seats isn’t enough of recommendation neither is a guarantee of competence for executive position. People should know their profession and certain management skills while working on the position of a minister deputy and on the position of the minister as well.

If she snitches her associates by calling them ‘’lazy holly cows’’ while working on that position only for two months, it means she didn’t overcome the main rule for boss according to which associates are being praised in public and criticized in person. Team of associates can function well when goals were clearly determined, when its individual competence has been evaluated well and when the organization of work is being adjusted to that. If army doesn’t work, something is wrong with their commander. Public lamentation over laziness of working associates especially through insulting expressions primarily reveals much about boss himself.

The notorious image is that the state services are sometimes slow and easygoing than a private sector, but people expect from the new government to change this image and not to helplessly sigh. If things are not working, if tasks are impregnable and situation unsustainable, resignation is still close to your hand.

In order to fix the damage, Marija Lugaric published another message: ‘’My Tweet is not against people who are devoted to their work but against backwater procedures and fear caused by politicization of the state service’’.  Output of this denial was worthless. An attempt of fixing up the first message didn’t bring any results, since ‘’lazy holly cows’’ flattered everywhere, and SDP’s politicians unfortunately joined spreading animosity towards workers of the public state firms. Creation of gap between workers in private and workers in public sector, along with wholehearted presence of certain media, is in the midst. The goal is established: the target should be replaced. Critics from carrier of economy policy and business structures redirect towards employees in state sector and when their rights are going to be cut down, it will be easier to additionally cut down rights of employees working at private employers. Who will fall for that, he should settle on it. But you don’t expect the social democratic reign to participate in that, even with impulsive excess over Twitter.
