Djapic is seeking that the vice-mayor, three members of the city committee and deputy city council member be from the HSP party.
OSIJEK, CROATIA - A meeting of the Osijek branch of HSP (Croatian Party of Rights) was held in Osijek, at which HSP and HDZ (Croatian Democratic Union) signed a coalition agreement, and they will most probably be joined by the HSU (Croatian Pensioners’ Party).
They agreed to support Ante Djapic for the position of mayor. Amongst other things, Djapic sought that the HSP take the following positions: vice-mayor, three members of the city committee and the deputy of the city council. The other members should be filled by HDZ.
Besdies that, HDZ and HSP have confirmed that SDP (Social Democratic Party) is to blame for the city government crisis in Osijek.
During a Osijek city council meeting, Biljana Borzan (SDP), the deputy mayor, stressed that a framing by HSP and HDZ is in question. She says that she cannot believe that during a time that all of Croatia is pointing a finger at Djapic, firstly the USKOK (Office for Suppression of Corruption and Organized Crime), that HDZ gave him support.
Borzan confirmed that materials for the next city council meeting are being prepared, in which she will be dissolved of her duties.
“We, members of the Osijek city government from SDP, will not resign, but will wait to be dissolved from our duties, for which there cannot be a meaningful reason, because after seven months without a government, this composition of the city government just began to function” said Borzan.
