Long-term HSP leader Anto Djapic has submitted his resignation at the party Presidency sitting, HSP members claim co-responsibility.
Claiming responsibility for electoral failure, Croatian Party of Rights (HSP) president Anto Djapic has submitted his letter of resignation today at the party Presidency sitting, it is stated in HSP`s press release.
However, party members did not accept exclusively Djapic`s responsibility for the electoral downfall, and they also claimed responsibility. HSP leadership has analysed a line of non-biased factors at the sitting with subjective responsibility, which have led to the dissatisfying electoral result: only one mandate.
HSP goes on to thank their voters in the press release, who have circled HSP, thus recognising the clarity of their programme and the consistency in preserving the values of the Croatian Homeland War, protection of national interests and severe opposition to the bipolarisation of the Croatian political scene.
Methods to destroy HSP were performed during the campaign
Still, they state that despite their programme guidelines, a policy and non-democratic methods which were directed at the destruction of HSP were led during the election campaign.
Regardless of this, HSP will, as the oldest political party, decisively maintain the political heritage of their founders, Father of Croatian Homeland dr. Ante Starcevic and dr. Eugen Kvaternik.
Seeing how the leadership is elected based on the Statute at the party Assembly, it was decided that the existing HSP Presidency and party president Anto Djapic continue running the party until the Assembly which will be held on February 24, 2008.
Inner-party elections will be conducted until the mentioned date in branches and county councils, while other preparations will be made on order for the HSP Assembly to be held.
