MILAN BANDIC:

Bandic listed all things he plans to achieve after becoming the president. Abolishment of crisis tax is one of them.
During a news conference Milan Bandic confidently announced the things he plans to change after winning the title of Croatia’s President. One of them is to ask the Government to abolish the 'disgraceful tax' (reffering to crisis tax) – which he could not remember the name of.
He said he would initiate a different rate of VAT on food products and a zero rate on 'basic' groceries. Furthermore, he announced the request to stop the sale of ‘Croatian gold’, i.e. water and soil, as well as a renewed strategy for the economy in terms of solutions to problems in education, employment, pensions and veterans. Although all of the above is under the jurisdiction of Government, Bandic remains confident.
- I will be so persistent that all of my requests will pass - said Bandic. Asked about whether he was trying to ‘buy’ more votes by giving donations to churches in Bosnia and Herzegovina, he replied that a group of business people invited him to help install five church bells and that this was solved.
To further journalistic inquiries about the apparent disproportion in finances, Bandic said that unlike the others, he is like Christian Ronaldo and that he had no contract problems because he was simply better than others.
- This is like the case of Mandžukić and Ronaldo, or God and hatter. What should I do, suppress my skills - asked Bandic and added that he ran for presidential candidacy because his political party proposed a candidate who is weaker than him.
Bandic added that he will always remained consistent and avoid bad-mouthing other candidates.
