'I Do Not Want to Make a Circus Out of Illness’

Dijana Plestina, Racan’s wife, is constantly with him in his hospital room. Apart from the operation, they expect a newborn in the family.

-Before coming to Munich, the task was to do some other things, which had to be done. Meetings with associates are completed. He has a new task in front of him, recovery – said Ivica Racan’s wife to journalists who have been waiting in front of the Germany's Bogenhausen Hospital for days.

She said that she believed the doctors who would carry out this complicated surgery on Thursday. They are excellent experts and she thanked the Croatian public for numerous messages of support.

Dijana Plestina is in permanent contact with her husband in his room. He is in the plastic surgery, hand surgery and third-degree burn treatment ward. Racan is a private patient, which means that he pays for his treatment. This gives his wife the right to be with him, Jutarnji list reports.

-I understand the curiosity of the journalists, but I do not want to make a circus out of my husband’s illness – said Plestina, adding that there would be no visits to Racan untill further notice.

Ivica Racan will become a grandfather very soon. His younger son Zoran (33) and his wife Martina Knezevic are expecting a boy.
