Initiative demands on Marjan gaining the immovable cultural heritage status

The Initiative for Marjan demands that Park Forest Marjan gets declaration of the immovable cultural heritage of the national character due to its historic, urban and cultural significance. We submitted documentation and the request to the Croatian council for cultural heritage of the Ministry of culture.

- In order to remind, the Conservation department of the Ministry of culture in Split brought an incomprehensive and disgraceful decision about Park Forest Marjan losing the status of B zone of protection. The area was no longer a protected cultural heritage by that decision. After the turbulent reaction of public the conservators showed some mercy and declared Marjan as a cultural heritage of  a local character and gave the Park the lowest C status of protection - said the activists in their report for the public. They emphasized that Maksimir had a status of the landscape architecture monument from 1964.

- Thanks to conservators from Split preceded by the principal Radoslav Buzanic, Park Forest Marjan has no longer the Cultural heritage status of B zone - said the activists from the Initiative for Marjan.
