A horrifying murder in Bjelovar where a young man killed his older lover with a knife, was a result of frequent family violence which was a reason of few police interventions in the past. The associations Kontra and Iskorak have harsh reactions on negligence of this case claiming that the police wasn't proceeding the case according to a protocol.
- In every incident of family violence a crime offender was murdered G.T. and police didn't proceed the case according to the Protocol of family violence history, only because this was a gay couple - says the report of the association. The association adds that they will take over a case procedure as they will offer a legal support to the offender.
Furthermore, one police officer from Bjelovar was suspended due to homophobic comments on Facebook. There will be disciplinary action taken against him due to inappropriate behavior while off duty. His comments indicate a regularity of such incidents between unfortunate couple.
