In the eve of today`s conference “Italy and Croatia – investing into Slavonia for mutual progress”, which will be held in Osijek, Italian co-operation with five counties of Slavonia up to now was presented last night at a press conference, as well as forms of future co-operation.
Italian economic co-operation with five Slovenian counties was good until now and a more tighter economic, cultural and friendly binding of the five counties with Italian regions Friuli-Venezia Giulia and Veneto is expected, it was pointed out during the conference, with Italian Ambassador in Croatia Alessandro Grafini and five Slavonian county heads present.
Osijek-Baranja county head Kresimir Bubalo stressed that trade of goods of this county with Italy amounted to 242 million dollars last year and that numerous projects are being prepared. Money from European pre-accession funds is planned to be drawn in a co-operation with several Italian regions via Regional Development Agencies and Department in Brussels, which were opened by the Osijek-Baranja county this year, Bubalo said.
He especially pointed out that the Osijek-Baranja county was recognised in the world as “a place of natural beauty and perseverance of the environment, which is a great advantage”.
