Slovene Prime Minister confirmed information by Prime Minister Sanader that the Croatian real-estate market is opening for Slovenes.
Slovene Prime Minister Janez Jansa confirmed on Sunday, on the margins of the EU summit in Berlin, that Croatian Prime Minister Ivo Sanader had informed him that the Croatian real-estate market would soon be open for Slovene citizens.
“The Croatian prime minister informed me that we can soon expect a Croatian diplomatic note which will officially confirm that the Croatian real-estate market is open for Slovene citizens”, Jansa said.
Jansa also explained that after it had adopted a law according to which Croatian citizens can buy real-estate in Slovenia, Slovenia had last year informed the Croatian government about it with a diplomatic note. He expects a similar step from Croatia.
Like Croatia, Slovenia conditions the purchase of real-estate on its territory upon reciprocity, that is, the request that the real-estate market in the country of potential real-estate buyers be also open for its citizens.
