Jelavic Pleads Guilty For 2 Years Of Probation

Apart from the sentence, Jelavic will pay 100,000 euros as additional sanctions, proposed by his defence. He will be released on Thursday.

Nikica Jelavic was sentenced to two years of probation. At the same time, he is obliged to pay 100,000 euros, which is not an additional penalty, but amounts to sanctions proposed to Jelavic`s defence, the Jutarnji list daily writes.

The verdict arrived after Jelavic settled and pleaded guilty, in replace for a sentence he will start -.-45 lines-.-Nikica Jelavicserving once he downplays the 100,000 euros. The verdict is to become valid on Thursday, and he is expected to be released from prison that day.

Bavaria has started proceedings against Jelavic over fraud and counterfeiting documents after which he requested compensation in the amount of 530,000 euros, for the time spent at a Bavarian prison in 2004, when he was charged with robbing a jeweller.


He has filed charges against Bavaria after he robbery charges were dropped, while the authorities of the federal province believed that the documents on the matter were forged and an APB was issued out, based on which he was arrested at the Slovenian-Croatian border in July 2008. He was charged with requesting compensation based on fake documents and false testimonies.
