After her statement that Jews should stop being Jews and start being people, the Jewish community voiced and threatened with a lawsuit.
ZAGREB, CROATIA - Aleksandar Tolnauer, president of the National minorities council, called out columnist Vedrana Rudan for hate speech, after she insulted Jews on Nova TV Network`s show on Monday night.
- Every comment was hate and anti-Semitism speech, while today is Holocaust Remembrance Day. This is a very sad day for all of us and to compare the Holocaust with Gaza is inadmissible – Tolnauer said, adding that he does not condemn such speech just when it comes to Israel, but it is inadmissible for anyone to be addressed in such a way.
On the other hand, Verdana Rudan denies ever saying anything inappropriate or full of hatred towards Jews.
- My text was a speech of pure love for the Jews and Palestinians. The disputable statements which trouble Mr. Tolnauer wee just Ana Frank quotes - Rudan said, pointing out that she always writes with a lot of love.
Tolnauer also mentioned that the Jewish community might file a lawsuit against Vedrana Rudan, but she says she is not afraid of anything.
- I love all people of good will and am not afraid of anything. After all, who can fear justice in Croatia? – Rudan concluded.
