The attitude that children can be reached at all costs and the current artificial insemination laws are unacceptable, says Jezerinac.
During the 17th pilgrimage of the Croatian Army and police on Sunday, Msgr. Juraj Jezerinac reminded the public once again that the Catholic Church likes to interfere with politics whenever possible. This time, the topic was a law on artificial insemination.
- The Church will not come to terms with this artificial insemination law. It is unacceptable for the Church! To us a child is a man from conception and no other law agrees with the will of God. We support all efforts of doctors to help infertile couples get their children, but we cannot accept the attitude that children should be reached at any cost; that is, by destroying other embryos. If we want to build Croatia, it must be built on secure foundations - Bishop Jezerinac said in his sermon.
‘Family open to new life creates good Christians’
He believes that parents who are physically able have children but who do not have them, are actually selfish because they see children as a burden.
- Many children live like loners in their families because they have no brothers or sisters. Statistics confirm that marriages without children often fall apart. This issue starts numerous other issues such as evaluation of Christian marriage and family life, respect for the sacrament of marriage, the education of young people and especially the cultivation of moral values in our society - said the bishop.
‘White Plague’, according to him, is one of the biggest problems of modern Croatia.
- It is clear that this nation and these citizens cannot survive without a number of good families - Bishop Jezerinac said, adding that the family open to accepting the new life is a place that cultivates good citizens and good Christians.
- Families like that have raised many of our soldiers who are ready to sacrifice their own lives in defense of our homeland – Jezerinac said.
