DIP did not receive reports from all the candidates who participated in the race; however they did from Bandic and Josipovic.
New president elect, Ivo Josipovic, spent 9.950.325 during his campaign, while Milan Bandic spent more than 15.278.984 kunas. This information was published by DIP who claims that, in spite the Monday deadline, they did not receive financial reports from all the presidential candidates.
Considering the fact that some of the reports were probably sent by mail, DIP will wait for another eight days before publishing the received reports. Either way, two of the most prominent candidates, Josipovic and Bandic, did finish this part of the work. Milan Bandic's election website announced that they spent 15.278.984 kunas, while Stefanija Balog, who was Ivo Josipovic's financial coordinator, said that their DIP report states that his campaign spent 8.950.325 kunas.
Balic stressed that most of this sum was donated by the SDP party, while the rest of it came from companies and individuals. Costs include 500.000 kunas that the state still owes him. According to Croatia’s law, each individual who receives more 10% of the votes during presidential elections receives 250.000 kunas, and the ones who pass to the second round get additional 250.000.
According to SDP’s report 6.835.505.50 kunas were deposited on Josipovic’s Erste & Steiermaerkische Bank account. Individuals donated 965.538,37 kunas and companies 565.300.
Bussinessman from Argentina supported Josipovic’s campuiagn with 90.000 kunas
Volunteers and other campaign sources contributed 8. 981.18 kunas during the second round of elections.
The highest individual donations came from Argentian businessman, Hektor Claudio Rois who gave 90.000 kunas and Neven vrnakovic from the Adriatic Group who donated 75.000 kunas. Robert Jezic owned, Dioki org. petrokemija d.d, contributed 200.000 kunas.
Maksima komunikacije d.o.o. Zagreb was the other company that significantly helped campaign by donating 162.000 kunas.
