If the Croatian presidential elections were today, Ivo Josipovic would get 26.6 percent of the votes, leaving Andrija Hebrang, Nadan Vidosevic and Vesna Pusic to run a tight race for qualifying for the second round, a survey conducted by Nova TV found.
Presidential campaigns are slowly commencing, the citizens want a good programme and experience in economy, however, according to the research in question, it seems that Mesic`s successor will not be elected in the first round.
Vidosevic without female votes
Social Democratic Party (SDP) candidate Ivo Josipovic has the support of the elderly in Slavonia, Istria and Primorje, Andrija Hebrang`s (Croatian Democratic Union candidate) most important trait is patriotism, while women would not vote for independent candidate Nadan Vidosevic, but they would cast their vote for Vesna Pusic of the Croatian People`s Party (HNS).
According to the poll, Vesna Pusic has attracted the votes of highly educated women up to the age of 30 from North Croatia, while Vidosevic has the support of highly educated men between 30 and 44, mostly from Primorje and Istria.
However, time will tell whether the conducted survey is accurate and which of the mentioned candidates will provide the best programme.
