Jurcic: My and Cacic`s Programmes are Compatible

Text

Jurcic believes how his and Cacic`s economic programmes are not drastically different. Just the opposite – they are compatible.

-If I and Mr. Cacic are to talk of our economic programmes, we would probably agree in 15 minutes- said Ljubo Jurcic, Social Democratic Party (SDP) candidate for the prime minister post and economic strategist.

Namely, his political opponent, HNS`s prime minister post candidate, Radimir Cacic pointed out during today`s presentation of his party`s economic programme that the progress of Croatian economy is in service economy, and that the “era of industrialisation has moved to the East”.

Presenting his economic programme, Jurcic accentuated industrialisation the most, therefore it was insinuated that Cacic criticised SDP`s strategy.

Development of industry is a goal for both parties

But, Jurcic believes that such criticism in unnecessary because, as he explained, when he was speaking of industrialisation in his economic programme, he was not talking of the industrialisation 50-60 years ago, but product services exactly.

-We can increase added value of gross domestic product only if service in certain industries increase- Jurcic said, adding that he was thinking of product services and not services of “muscles”, like transport or catering.

He also added that he did not think it was necessary to point out that for such services, knowledge and education is necessary, as well as the experience of past generations. For the production of services, in which less would be invested and much more would be charged, education is a paramount condition.

-Education and knowledge are also the basis of my economic strategy, just like technology- Jurcic said, explaining that the point of his programme is changing the structure of the economy, with the goal to increase GDP.
