Karamarko: We shall restore the authentic Croatia in the HDZ

The president of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ), Tomislav Karamarko, said at the opposition party's 23nd anniversary session on Sunday that the time had come for Croatia to enter the European Union under its full name, name written down by Franjo Tudjman, the HDZ and Croatian veterans and not by Josip Broz Tito.

"We are Europeans, but we are also Croatians with deep roots in the European history and the history of this territory, we fought for our country and we shall continue to do so," Karamarko said.

He criticised the incumbent government, calling it "the non-people" government, stressing it was incapable of doing anything on the economic front and adding that on the ideological and moral fronts it was doing everything to ruin the values created in the 1990s.

"With such great pleasure they are denying the auspices over Bleiburg, they are saying that they would not build the Peljesac Bridge and they do not want the territorial continuity of the Croatian state to exist," Karamarko said, adding that the government would not succeed.

We shall restore the authentic Croatia in the HDZ, and we shall bring the HDZ back to the Croatian people and I am not afraid for the future of this party," the HDZ president said. (Hina)
