The only way I can preserve my family, health and dignity is by not accepting this rigged game.
A line of Croatian diplomat scandals continues after the case of former consul, professor Goroslav Keller surfaced up recently.
He worked in Sydney as a diplomat for six years and was requested to stand down at the end of last year. The Croatian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Croatian Integration claims an investigation was conducted, which determined that Keller while moving, Keller sent the furniture from the Sydney office to Croatia. The furniture was estimated at some 10,000 euros, while certain confidential documents were found in the drawers.
Interestingly enough, the information about the ministry`s supposed investigation was tipped off to a daily newspaper straight away, which simply “buried” the diplomat and university professor with single-sided writing. In the same tone, some might call it a media lynch, the information was reported by national television.
Thus, professor Keller was definitely condemned. At this point, his only possible reaction was to send an open letter to the Croatian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Croatian Integration, via Javno news site:
- I allow the Croatian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Croatian Integration to continue smearing my name in the media, as they please. I will not take part in this charade. I will not be a character in the Foreign Ministry`s play. After 41 years of successful work, after 17 years in diplomacy, aftre 5 and a half years of successfully representing Croatia in Sydney, after leading the largest consular assembly in the world for two years, the only way to preserve my family, health and dignity is by not accepting this rigged game, in which the winner is known in advance. Believing in the legal order of the Republic of Croatia, I will seek justice and satisfaction in court – Goroslav Keller wrote.
