Text

Kerum and Leko will build ‘an empire’ at Bundek lake

Hotels, offices, apartments and museums are planend to be built between the Bundek Lake and the Museum of  Contemporary Arts in Zagreb, on 21 hectares of land.

Zeljko Kerum, an entrepreneur, with Andjelko Leko, a manager at the Croatian Employers' Association (HUP), together with Slobodan Cimbur from Saxum and a company ‘Telefongradnja’ will launch a mutual bussiness in land restructuring of extremely valuable 21.4 hectares of land in Zagreb.

Kerum in property development

It was known earlier Zeljko Kerum had bought land in order to build a shopping centre, but it was not known what would be build on the rest of it. Anamarija Rajčić from the City Institute for Urban Planning confirmed to ‘Javno’ that the costs of planning will be covered by HUP Zagreb d.o.o. with manager Andjelko Leko at the helm.

HUP owns hotels Sheraton, Westin, International and Zagreb, which is settled there, therefore it will take care of the expenses of town-planning scheme of regulation for the part where Kerum is meant to build a shopping centre. Saxum and Telefongradnja will build apartment complexes.

We still do not know how many apartments will be there or what that business complex would look like, but it is expected that the plan will be finished within a month, says Rajcic.

As Poslovni dnevnik claims, Kerum will build the Bundek Centre at 17,000 squares with apartments, a hotel, numerous shopps and sport facilities. HUP, as manager Andjelko Leko says, wants to reconstruct the Zagreb Hotel, which is why they have offered to make a town-planning scheme.

A half of that allocation of land was converted to a mix zone and the south part of it was left for museums and other cultural facilities.
