Koprivnica Mayor Says Will Not Run for SDP Head

Zvonimir Mrsic said he put his political ambitions behind a more important goal – victory in the coming parliamentary election.

The mayor of Koprivnica and member of parliament of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Zvonimir Mrsic, today forwarded a letter to members of the Koprivnica city chapter of the SDP, thanking them for his candidacy for SDP president,.stressing that he put his political ambitions behind a more important goal – the victory of social democrats at the upcoming parliamentary elections, the SDP’s public relations office reported Friday. 

In the letter, Mrsis expressed his conviction that “only a government headed by the SDP can realise a new development cycle for Croatia and enable citizens a better life.

-I will do everything in my power and ability to see the SDP to again get the chance to run the country and then I am prepared to serve citizens in the executive or legislative authority. SDP teams are working well on the preparations of the party and programme for the electoral victory. I will personally contribute to the SDP team becoming the victor – the statement reads.
