Possible killers of Luka Ritz are out of detention and the murdered boy`s mother is desperate.
ZAGREB, CROATIA – Suspects for the murder of 19-year-old Luka Ritz were released from detention, because the maximum period of detention has passed n relation to the crime. Four suspects will await trial out of custody and they have all confessed to beating Luka to death.
Still, only the minors were released, while the only person of age, 18-year-old S.S. is still in detention.
How does Luka Ritz`s mother feel, who can only watch the attackers and possible murderers of her son avoid sanctions for the assault which they admitted to, assault which ended in Luka`s death.
"Nobody`s conscience has kicked in"
- The law definitely needs to be changed. This latest move speaks everything about the law on minors. In four months, which is how long they have been in detention, nobody`s conscience has kicked in – Suzana Ritz said saddened.
She is determined in her intention to change certain matters and is planning to take steps so that the situation like Luka`s never happens again. Disappointed, she is still waiting to see the developments.
- I plan to appeal to all the politicians. All of them have children and we know that nobody is immune to what is happening – saddened Mrs. Ritz told us.
Without being provoked, suspects J.J. and K.M. approached Luka Ritz and his friend that fatal night, hitting Luka and knocking him to the ground. They continued kicking him on the floor. Soon, friends joined the attackers, physically assaulting the 19-year-old and his friend.
After spending three days in hospital, Luka was discharged, but a week later, he was sick and was readmitted. He died of abrain hemorrhage during an operation.
