ZAGREB, CROATIA - Mother of murdered Ivana Hodak, Ljerka Mintas Hodak, expressed satisfaction with the case being solved, however, she was shocked with the motive of 61-year-old Mladen Slogar.
- It has exactly been four months today. I am shocked with the reason that someone can kill a completely innocent young person, who has nothing to do with his life story, due to such a motive – Mrs. Mintas Hodak told Plavi Radio.
“Such a man is hard to find”
Mother of murdered Ivana said she has never heard of Mladen Slogar, and as the police informed her, a gun was found in his possession, used to kill Ivana, a 26-year-old law intern in her father Zvonimir Hodak`s company. Also, she added, the police told her Slogar confessed to killing Ivana
Ivana Hodak`s killer Mladen Slogar is a tramp who has been planning the murder for 15 years. He was laid off from the Mladost Tennis Courts company, believing that Zvonimir Hodak was their legal representative.
- I think the police really were engaged. Such a man is hard to find, considering the motive. It was also clear to me from the beginning that there could not be a reasonable motive to kill a young girl – Ljerka Mintas Hodak pointed out.
Ivana Hodak was killed on October 6, 2008 in front of her downtown Zagreb apartment. The only daughter of Zagreb attorney Zvonimir Hodak and Ljerka Mintas Hodak was 26 years old and worked as an intern at her father`s office.
Although it was speculated on several occasions that the murders of Ivana Hodak, Nacional weekly co-founder Ivo Pukanic and the paper`s marketing director Niko Franjic were connected, a four-month investigation yielded unexpected results.
