MOTHER OF KILLED LUKA RITZ

MARCH 10 2009 13:23h

Luka is Dead, and J.J. Attacked and is Free Again

Text

Suzana Ritz was not surprised by a new attack by J.J. on another boy, or that he was released, because he is a person who bullies everyone.

The news that one of the attackers that caused the death of her son, participated in an attack on another youngster, did not surprise the mother of the deceased Luka Ritz, Suzana Ritz at all. As she says, she and her husband expected something like that, even that the violent 16 year old J.J. would be released to freedom again.

The battle should definitely be started immediately, or we will get children who act like violent grownups. We should not forget that today children grow up in families where their parents suffer from PTSD who have violent episodes themselves, or are raised by people who cannot even take care of themselves. A young person is emotionally very unstable and every bad situation in them provokes rage that they do not know how to control, but if we show them how to avoid violence, we have gained a good youngster

Judge Lana Peto-Kujundzic

“The problem of our society is that somebody thinks that, as soon as a child greets them on the street, a polite child is in question. But the school colleagues of that child said on various occasions that a violent bully is in question that abuses everyone. Where has today’s society gone when people are delighted at some basic culture, when one greeting, which should be normal, is enough to make people consider they are a great child? A cow says moo when it comes into the stable, does it not? asks Suzana Ritz.

She added that hardly anything can surprise her in the case of her son, and that she is shocked a lot more and hurt when she reads that somebody’s child has been attacked and beaten on the streets.

“This generation of wartime and post war children is, unfortunately, lost. It is a profile of children who, despite all the tragedies, have not opened their eyes. Luka’s friends have said a hundred times that at 16 years of age you can drive a scooter, you can get married, but you cannot answer for your actions. It is unfortunate that the law was written in 1997 when there were no such situations, but the situation has changed a lot since then” concluded Ritz.

Suzana Ritz and experts in Croatia see the only solution to stop violence amongst children and minors in education from an early age. For this generation of teenagers it might be too late, but the institutions should get to work and implement programs in which children will accept one another with all their shortcomings.

Youngsters Will Seriously Injure, Rape, Humiliate

“I can only talk in the name of my child and fight for my child. I am not a lawyer to fight for somebody’s right, besides the right of my child. But I consider that the state should do something for those children so that they can finally start to feel safe on the streets, and maybe they will never feel safe on the streets” said Suzana Ritz.

Remember, one of the attackers on Luka Ritz, the 16 year old J.J. was recently brought in for beating a 15 year old boy in September last year. In that period, the police were still searching for him and four of his friends who are linked to the death of Luka Ritz. After they were finally brought in, the attackers on Luka were soon released from custody, and a similar scene occurred then and now. After the victim recognized J.J. he was brought in and, after he was taken in to the court for minors, he was released to freedom again.
