The young man agreed to meet a girl he communicated with on Facebook, but instead of her, he was greeted by six attackers.
Ten days ago Karlovac police received a tip about a young man who was beaten in front of the restaurant 'Dzafer. The police found that the 21-year man from Karlovac arranged a meeting with a girl whom he communicated with on Facebook.
Instead of the girl, the young man was met by five or six youths dressed in black hoods who started beating him without any explanation. The attackers left after he was knocked on the ground.
The victim was previously known to the Karlovac police for disturbing public peace and order.
The young man requested medical attention at the Karlovac General Hospital where doctors determined that he suffered only minor physical injuries.
Meeting attackers instead of Lara
Motive for the attack was a previous clash with youths who attacked him, Radio Mreznica reports. The young man was arrested at the time and reported for threatening them with a knife. Family of the attacked man said that he pulled a knife at a larger group of youths after drunkenly stumbling from a fast food restaurant.
They took this as a threat and called the police.
A few days later the young man received a facebook message from a ‘girl’ called Lara who said that she wants to meet him. Young man's family believes that the attackers created the girl’s profile to lure him into meeting them.
