Madjeric Accused Bandic Of Sexism

Text

Mayor said the female representative was not well informed of contracts through direct settlement, seeing she was on maternity leave.

Battle of the sexes, interparty instigations and alleged sexist breakdown prevailed during the City assembly. Margarita Madjaric of the Croatian Democratic union (HDZ) accused Milan Bandic of a sexist outburst, because to the question why does he not respect the Public Procurement Law, he replied she was misinformed seeing she was away for a long time on maternity leave and that clearly someone wrote her speech.

Madjaric, rattled by the mayor`s act, asked the Assembly president to preserve her representative dignity and accused Bandic of sexism, because he also criticised her party colleague Asja Bebic, that her speech also did not come from her. She added that, although she took maternity leave, she was well informed of public procurement. She also said the best example of Bandic not respecting the Public Procurement Law was the State attorney`s office investigating 115 direct settlements.

Expensive living in the metropolis

Alenka Kosisa Cicin-Sain pointed out to an unclear criteria, because of which water purification became more expensive. She did not receive a direct answer to this question, because Bandic layed it all down to expensive living in the metropolis which will not become any cheaper in time and that this is the price to be paid for an ecological conscience. From water, he shifted over to incinerations which will amount to additional expensification due to closing the waste management circle.

To Morana Palinkovic Gruden`s request of a written reply under which circumstances he purchased his apartment he replied he will grant her wish, adding he explained the purchase process of his apartment hundreds of times already.
