When the directors of Zagreb Holding’s subsidiaries achieve noticeable results, Zagreb’s mayor will reward them with a raise.
After the Croatian Cabinet cut the salaries of the directors that run state owned companies, Zagreb’s mayor Milan Bandic will not follow in premier Ivo Sanader’s footsteps. He said that he does not know about the initiative to reduce salaries, and said that he will go in the opposite direction.
“I have not heard of the premier’s initiative. The directors of Zagreb Holding’s subsidiaries have lower wages than state officials. We will do the opposite. After results are achieved we will talk about increasing their salaries, not reducing them. If people have small salaries, you can not expect results and effect” stressed Bandic after a meeting of the city government. He left the details of the question to the new director of Zagreb’s Holding Ivo Covic, who was not at the press conference.
“Regardless of who pays for the parking, the money must be on the account”
Zagreb’s mayor answered a question about parking in the area of the city “Gornji Grad”. He said that regardless of who pays for the parking, the money must be on the bank account.
“I am not negotiating with anyone. The director of Zagrebparking and the Cabinet or Parliament should arrange who will pay for the parking spots on St. Mark’s Square (just in front of the Croatian parliament). If it is the Parliament, parliamentarians or Cabinet… The money must be on the account. Nothing comes for free. But if somebody brings me a free parking ticket, I will reward them with my pay cheque, and that is not small” bragged Bandic.
Also, the mayor did not want to comment much about the sale of the Zagrepcanka building to IGH, saying that the committee from Zagreb Holding will inform the public on time.
