Mesic: Holocaust is Worst Crime in History

On the occasion of Holocaust Victims Remembrance Day, President Mesic dubbed the Holocaust the worst crime in human history.

The Jewish religious community Bet Israel headed by president Ivo Goldstein, Rabi Kotel Da-Don and Israeli Ambassador Shmuel Meir remembered the horrors of the Holocaust at a conference in Zagreb

The conference was also attended by Croatian President Stjepan Mesic who recalled his interview on Italian television Rai tre in which he said that the partisan crimes in Italy were a revenge for fascism.

-- I was not justifying the crime, I merely stated historical facts because Italy must admit that the fascists killed and opened concentration camps – Mesic said.

Reactions to the Slovene note on the ban on exploration of the Adriatic 

-- It is crystal clear, the borders of the republic of Yugoslavia are today the borders of independent states. The sea border was determined long ago – Mesic said, offering the Slovener arbitration, Vecernji ist reports.
