While opening the 85th Zagreb Autumn Fair, the president said that we need to change the policies that led us into the crisis.
During the opening of the 85th Autumn Zagreb Fair, President of Croatia, Stjepan Mesić, said that he does not share the optimism of the Croats who claim that the upcoming end of financial crisis is almost here. He believes that there is no real reason for such a blind optimism.
Mesic added that speculating about the crisis, as if this was a weather forecast, is absurd and that we should instead focus on changing the policies that produced it, Vecernji List writes. He also argued that Croatia can only be saved by a general consensus strong enough to overpower the individual interests.
Support for a presidential candidate who will advocate such a policy
The President noted that he will support the presidential candidate that stands behind such a policy, and that he hopes that the strongest advocate of country’s progress wins the election.
The Zagreb International Autumn Fair celebrates its 85th anniversary. At more than 65 thousand square meters of exhibition space, one of Europe's oldest trade fairs will be employed by 1294 exhibitors, of which 494 are foreigners coming from 33 international destinations. Admission is free of charge.
