Today the PM Milanovic met the CEO of the Ikea group Mikael Ohlsson, the director of Ikea Croatia Dragan Skalusevic and Branko Mihajlov, who is a director of Inter Ikea center. The meeting was attended by the ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden for Croatia Fredrik Vahlquist, the Government's report informs.
They discussed plans of this company in Croatia and Ohlsson introduced the PM with the current phase of preparation works and desirability to accelerate the beginning of construction works of the first IKEA store in Croatia. He also emphasized that he saw a great potential in spreading cooperation with the local suppliers.
- We have Feroplast from Buje and Tvin company from Virovitica Ikea has been cooperating together with for 30 years now, but we also search for other suppliers from Croatia - Ohlsson said.
Milanovic expressed his support to Ikea's plans for Croatia. He promised the Government would help as much as possible in accordance with the authority.
The opening of the Ikea store is predicted for the year 2013 and the company also has plans to open another two stores - in Rijeka and Split.
