M.Opacic: HDZ Is Spying On Me

Milanka Opacic accused HDZ of spying on her personally and other SDP members.

The Social-Democratic Party (SDP) Vice-president stated at the parliament how the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) formed special espionage teams to spy on SDP members and called out the government was not only spying citizens, but their political opponents as well.

In the parliament hallway she told journalists how acquaintances have been calling them for the past three weeks saying some people had been asking questions about them. HDZ has formed teams consisted of former and active intelligence officers whose mission is to dig over our lives and seek dirt which they might compromise us with in the campaign.

HDZ secretary general and head of the National Security Board Ivan Jarnjak said that was the worst lie SDP could have fabricated in order to have an alibi for the election loss.

Government spokesperson Ratko Macek added this was a case of “the usual, completely untrue libel from SDP which has nothing to do with reality”, the Jutarnji list daily reports.
