MP: `Ready for Homeland´ is Equal to Sieg Heil

Text

Will the PM be sanctioned for drinking alcohol in the Arena, who knows, and Kajin equalised `ready for homeland´ with Sieg Heil.

ZAGREB, CROATIA - “Luckily they did not translate `ready for the homeland´ for the English premier Brown, because it means the same as “Sieg Heil”. Luckily they stopped at a racist outburst” said Damir Kajin from the IDS (Istrian Democratic Assembly) in the discussion on sports fans in the Croatian parliament.

Pixsell-.--.-He considers that the law on sports competitions needs to be complimented with a law on music events, because disorder occurs there as well, and that Markovic and Bilic must pull players from the field as soon as the chants `ready for the homeland´ begin.

The SDP (Social Democratic Party) member Sime Lucin stresses that by implementing that law in 2001, violence left the stadiums, and that serious analyses need to be made, and he brought up the issue of equality before the law.

“Will the law on fans be implemented on all fans, or only those outside the VIP section? Let the MUP (Ministry of Internal Affairs) decide if they will punish premier Ivo Sanader for drinking alcohol during a sports match, inside the sporting object” said Lucin.

The state secretary in the MUP, Ivica Buconjic, avoided answering a question on Sanader and his enjoyment of alcohol in a place where it is specifically forbidden.

However, Dragutin Lesar, an independent parliamentarian, came with a concrete proposal by saying: “Premier Sanader should pay a fine of 10,000 kuna, or apologise for the oversight that occurred to him. Or the credibility of the law on fans is in question.
