President of Croatian Chamber of Commerce, Nadan Vidosevic, will announce his presidential candidacy during HGK’s September 2nd meeting.
According to Slobodna Dalmacija, Nadan Vidosevic, president of Croatian Chamber of Commerce, is definitely joining the race for the office and his candidacy will be announced during HGK’s meeting on September 2. His candidacy would confirm many speculations, and his decision, claims the source, is ultimate.
This move could jeopardize Andrija Hebrang, rulling party candidate, who similarly as Vidosevic, has been party’s member for years. Asked to give a comment about Vidosevic’s candidacy, prime minister Jadranka Kosor quickly replied that she will give a comment if the candidacy happens, but that party rules were clear in regards to that question.
‘Let the thousand flowers bloom’
- Those who do not respect party’s resolutions are automatically removed from its membership. Our only candidate was Andrija Hebrang, who recived support from HDZ’s leadership and as far as HDZ is concerned, the story ends there – Kosor said.
HDZ’s presidential candidate, Hebrang, said that Vidosevic should have announced his candidacy to the party so that they could join the electoral race with a single, party elected candidate.
This way, we are going to have two candidates – Concludes Hebrang. He also predicts that Vidosevic cannot count on HDZ’s support, except for the left party voters. SDP candidate, Ivo Josipovic, said that he was not surprised by Vidosevic’s candidacy and that he expects just and exciting race, but that he hopes for his own victory.
Vesna Pusic, HNS’ presidential candidate, gave a poetic response to the news ‘Let the thousand flowers bloom’. Asked whether Vidosevic’s candidacy would disturb relations within the HDZ party, Pusic replied that their current relations are in the state where nothing can disturb them.
