Neither Hindering, nor Hurrying

Jarnjak asked for an opinion by the council for civilian monitoring of secret services on the Cigelj case.

- On the behalf of the Board for National Security, I sent Sime Lucin’s written demand on an opinion on the Jadranka Cigelj case to the Council for the Civilian Monitoring of Secret Intelligence Agencies and to the Office of the Committee for National Security on Friday, said the head of the national security committee Ivan Jarnjak at a session Tuesday.

Sime Lucin, the Social Democratic Party MP, asked for an explanation whether the former head of the office for non-governmental associations had the right to and how she could ask for data authentication of candidates for the Council for Civil Society Development.

The members of the opposition believe that the ruling Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) was protracting the discussion because the response on Lucin’s request had not arrived yet. They asked for the discussion on the case within 14 days, and some of them asked for it now.

-I do not know, I did not hinder them or hurry them – answered Jarnjak when he was asked when he expected to get the answer from the Council for Civilian Monitoring of Secret Intelligence Agencies and the National Security COmmittee.
