ZAGREB, CROATIA - Croatian President Stjepan Mesic welcomed Hungarian Foreign Affairs Minister Kinga Goencz on Friday. The officials discussed bilateral relations between Croatia and Hungary, the president`s office announced.

During the meeting, good bilateral relations were confirmed, which do not have a single outstanding issue. Co-operation between the two countries is on the rise, which is evident from agreements for joint infrastructure projects in energetic, environment protection and good border co-operation.

An important dimension of good-neighbourly relations are national minorities which really amount to a link between the two countries.

The situation in the region was also discussed, and the importance of European expansion was particularly emphasised to all countries of South-Eastern Europe.

Minister Goencz forwarded the invitation of Hungarian President László Sólyom for President Mesic to attend the 20 the anniversary of the fall of the Iron Curtain in Budapest at the end of June this year, the announcement reads.
