Zoran Milanovic claims that the meeting is late a few years, but added that we cannot ignore Slovenia’s stance.
ZAGREB, CROATIA - The president of the SDP (Social Democratic Party) Zoran Milanovic commented on Tuesday the meeting between the Croatian premier Ivo Sanader and the Slovenian premier Borut Pahor in Mokrice, Slovenia. He said that five years of inactivity and putting off solving the problem with Slovenia has now come back at them.
He added however, that he must mention the incorrect and blackmailing stance of Slovenia, which is a circumstance that makes things harder, and speaks in favour of premier Sanader and the Cabinet.
We expect answers to some questions like how the mandate of Ahtisaari’s intermediary commission was conceived, considering that there are no reasons for not knowing anything about its contents one month after the idea was first mentioned.
Milanovic: Meeting between Sanader and Pahor should have occurred much earlier
We still do not know, and the task of diplomacy is to find out, what is the contents of the mediation that Ahtisaari led. Is only political mediation in question, or would this mediation decide on the border itself, said Milanovic.
According to Milanovic’s evaluation, the meeting between Sanader and Pahor should have occurred a long time ago, and we waited a long time for it, and the responsibility is partly carried by the Croatian side.
At this moment Croatia has many problems, and this is one of them, but not the largest one, concluded Milanovic.
