PRE-ELECTORAL TENSIONS

The initiative was taken by the party branch in Osijek because, they say, Kramaric seriously violated his authority.
President of the HSLS (Croatian Social Liberal Party) branch in Osijek Zlatko Benasic said today that their executive committee unanimously decided to start a procedure to ban HSLS vice-president Zlatko Kramaric from the party.
Banasic motivated the initiative with heavy violation of his membership duties, and, as one of the reasons, he pointed out that Kramaric seriously violated and usurped his authority, damaged the party and deranged relationships between the coalition partners by blackmailing the party branch.
- In this way, he put his own interests in front of the party branch’s interests and went against the party’s interests, but also against the citizens of Osijek and, if he had not, probably a lot of this would not have happened – Benasic said.
Benasic pointed out Kramaric’s blackmailing with regards to the bearer of the 4th electorate list as one of the practical reasons for banning him.
‘Benasic is not able to listen and does not have feeling for political tones'
- If it were not annoying, it would be funny, but maybe it is even a good thing that it happened – thus Zlatko Kramaric commented the decision of the party branch in Osijek in an interview with Javno.hr. He said that important difference came up between his and Benasic’s point of view.
Kramaric said that the problem is in the fact that he could not accept the coalition with HDSSB (Croatian Democratic Parliament of Slavonia and Baranja), when the crisis in Osijek occurred.
I begged my colleagues to drop the HSLS head’s decision to enter the coalition, but they ignored me, and I had to stand aside – Kramaric said, stating that the reason for his banning from the party can not be related to any kind of blackmailing, to which Benasic refers.
Bensaic is not able to listen and has no feeling for political tones, and I did not violate the statute nor the civil code with my actions, on the contrary, I maintained the head office’s policy – Kramaric stressed.
‘Kramaric initialized the coalition with HDSSB’
On the other hand, Benasic said that Kramaric was actually the first initiator of the HSLS-HDSSB coalition.
- We can argue about it, but within the party branch we all know – Benasic said adding that he believes that party president Djurdja Adlesic will respect the unanimous decision of the branch to start a procedure to ban Kamaric from the party, because the same feeling is shared among a big part of the party.
HSLS president Djurdja Adlesic did not want to give comments over the newly occurred situation, because, as she told us, she has not received anything in writing.
