The Croatian Physicist who was invited to join Barack Obama’s team would help the Croatian government create a green and loving Croatia.
ZAGREB, CROATIA – Dr Davor Pavuna, a Croatian physicist in US President Barack Obama’s team who was called in to be one of the reviewers of the projects of avant-garde research which includes new materials, high temperature superconductivity, that is, green energy and green technology.
‘There was no place for me in Zagreb’
Dr Pavuna graduated in physics at the Science and Mathematics Faculty in Zagreb and he earned his doctor’s degree at Cambridge University. As a young scientist we went to live abroad and made a career in Great Britain, Switzerland and the United States. When he tried to return to Croatia at the end of the 1990’s, he was turned away from the Zagreb University because he was overqualified.
Dr Pavuna is an unusual scientist who, as he said, broadcast throughout the show subliminal messages of love to the audience to contribute to the creation of a better Croatia.
- I love Croatia and I’m totally impressed with the fact that a country of five million people, which is about the size of a village in China, can have the Kostelic siblings, “klapa” harmony choirs, clean land and wonderful people. Our people are very capable, but it seems that their correlation drops when there is more than 20 of them. Perhaps it is genetic. This is why we never succeeded with industries that hire many people, such as the car industry – Dr Davor Pavuna said on Croatian television's talk show "Nedjeljom u 2" on Sunday.
Knowing God
In his youth, Pavuna sought many answers to many questions about existence. He travelled through India, he meditated and was in Zen for entire weekends, he met the Sai Baba, but when he returned home, his cousin told him that everything he had found he had already had in Catholicism. He went to seminars with Father Zvjezdan Linic and professor Tomislav Ivancic, angry with the fact that the communists together with 20 million people made him falsely believe that there is no God, whereas the entire world knew there was a God. He was already teaching at Harvard when he decided to go to Teze where he lived an ascetic life and worked as a driver. During those moments of his life he was very unhappy, traumatised by the fact that his wife had abandoned him and that his father had spent three years dying in horrific pain.
- One evening, I said to God, if You are alive, show Yourself to me because I am a physicist and You have to be here. I was angry with Him. I yelled: “Either You will do something with me or I’m going to the Himalayas.” Suddenly, at five o’clock in the morning, I felt joy as if He had said “Don’t worry”. After that, my life took a turn for the better. I got a job in Switzerland and then with the owner of Tetrapak who provided me with a super-equipped lab in France with the task to make the aluminium shell within the package thinner. I managed to reduce it from seven microns to six microns, which made him millions in profit. At the time I was still naïve because I knew nothing about globalisation – Dr Pavuna said.
Croatia like Switzerland Antirecession measures
These problems cannot be understood or solved with classic economy, but a multi-dimensional economy. And Croatia does not have such experts.
The Croatian scientist thinks that Croatia should look at Switzerland which is staying away from globalisation and is opposing the European Union. It is compatible with it, but only moves the barriers it has to. He also believes that Croatia also has an advantage over Switzerland, only with much more pleasant people who just need to be woken up for the country to move forward.
- I advocate the creation of a green and pure Croatia full of love. Realistically, the planet can be run by mathematicians, physicists and people with solid education. As far as Croatia is concerned, Sanader is a bigger dictator than Tudjman was. He is theatrical and is leading the country like an interesting play. Our government is credible, everybody’s eyes are on it and it must enable a reserve option, a reservoir, just like firemen have. The future does not happen just like that and predictably. They have to have a prepared plan about what they will do tomorrow if the EU does not help Hungary which is in a very difficult situation, which would cause the Ina company to collapse. Half of our country’s economy would be in question then. What if, by statistical probability, one of our banks falls under, then another. These problems cannot be understood or solved with classic economy, but a multi-dimensional economy. And Croatia does not have such experts – he said.
The government’s credibility
Pavuna explained the rule of mediocrity in Croatia with the principle of the best looking for the best, the second best looking for the third best and only the very best look for those who are better than they are.
- Sanader is the best, while Tudjman chose better than himself – he said.
According to him, he was also called by the Croatian government, but refused to say why. He says he is willing to help anybody who turns to him for advice and he considers he has done a lot already by taking part in the television talk show during which he sent subliminal messages of love, thus preventing a murder, child abuse and domestic violence.
