Croatian police chief Vladimir Fabersiad on Thursday in Belgrade that the murder of Croatian journalist and Nacional weekly co-founder Ivo Pukanic was resolved by a criminal inquest at the level of the person who organised and commited the act.
- We are a step closer, which shows the fact that two days before the New Year, investigation against a Serbian citizen was expanded, as the organiser of the murder and I am convinced that we will get a step further with such joint activities – Faber told reporters upon meeting with Serbian Interior Minister Ivica Dacic and Serbian police chief Milorad Veljovic.
- The main topic of the conversation were the murders of Ivana Hodak, Ivo Pukanic and Niko Franjic. We forwarded the latest operational information concerning concrete persons and their activities and jointly analysed this information – Faber said.
He added that after colleagues of the Serbian police analyse the submitted contents in detail, two police heads would meet again to continue joint activities in solving the cases.
- This says we are aware of the importance and the responsibility we have, as head men in security departments, towards our citizens and towards ourselves, and that we are aware of the fact that we cannot solve a problem on our own, autonomously, but we have to solve them using the capacities of both police departments, definitely collaborating with police departments in the region – Faber pointed out.
Talking with reporters, Faber emphasised the quality of co-operation concerning border police, precising that illegal migrations were reduced to the minimum in the past several years and the Croatian police is ready to co-operate with the Serbian police in all areas and tasks they have.
