- It never happened that the names of ambassador candidates leaked into media before the countries’ accepters are not informed about it. The person who revealed those names has violated the state reputation and damaged its own interests, as well as discarded those people – said the Minister of Foreign Affairs Gordan Jandrokovic at the press-conference while explaining the conflict with the president around the names for candidates.

He reminded that 14 people out of 15 from the list of candidates are those who work at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on certain leading positions and most of them are career diplomats. He didn't speculate about the person who published the list of candidates but he said that the list didn't leak into media from the Ministry.

But he explained these things happen, as he said, because SDP doesn’t want to do the same it did during the period of being in charge from 2000 to 2003.

- In year 2003 SDP named 21 of their new ambassadors, and 13 of them in the second part of a year, just before the elections. Most of them ended up in diplomatic positions for the first time and there were rumors about positioning their party members – said Jandorkovic.

He also accused the professor Branko Caratan, Ivan Grdesic and Damir Grubisa who ‘’are now performing as experts and they are defending interests of SDP indeed’’, said the minister and added that the PM Kosor was ready to look through the candidates’ CVs along with president Josipovic.
