ZAGREB, CROATIA – The largest and oldest street festival in Croatia, Cest is d’Best has finally begun. More than 300 performers from two dozen countries will entertain the people of Zagreb until Sunday in the centre of the city.
At the opening ceremony at 8pm, Zagreb’s Kraljevi ulice band will perform, followed by Rodinke, five girls from the Czech Republic, and Duo nos. Before that, circus performers will perform from the Ban Jelacic Square to Cvjetni Square where Laci played his ‘wondering piano’ in the morning. Zagreb’s Mayor Milan Bandic will join Kraljevi ulice in singing a song.

This year’s, 13th Cest is d’Best festival will be rich with performance, music, art and dance. Artists from Australia, Austria, France, Croatia, Japan, Hungary, Germany, the United States, Slovenia,
Serbia, Spain and Sweden will perform during the 150 hours of the festival.
During the four days, the festival will take place on Ban Jelacic Square, Cvjetni Square, Zrinjevac and Bogoviceva Street.
The Cest is d’Best festival is an event of good vibrations and laughter where you can play street basketball or chess. The festival is rich with entertainment and events such as the race of babies, race of street sweepers and a picnic in Ban Jelacic Square.
This year’s festival brings some novelties, such as the “Pub Quiz in Tkalciceva Street”, “Stand-up Comedy at Charlie’s”, “Poetry in Tkalciceva Street”, “Centre for Emergency and Small Mending of Moods in Tkalciceva Street” and “Dance Party in Zrinjevac”.
