ZAGREB, CROATIA – President of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) Zoran Milanovic invited Croatian Prime Minister Ivo Sanader and the government to face the public with recession, which Croatia is in, to identify the problems and offer solutions. However, he pointed out, seeing how the PM has not done so, the SDP will introduce their anti-recession programme.
- It seems that the crisis has not gotten through to the prime minister. The government is not the
leading consultant, but the people who are supposed to lead the country and offer solutions, and I can`t see this. The SDP will offer solutions next week for the fight against recession, the Balkan crisis and the problems that many small and medium entrepreneurs are faced with. I cannot hear an answer to that question. Responsible politics does not stick its head in the sand, responsible politics does not say it has the solution, but does not announce it. The SDP will offer a solution for the negligence and sloth over the past five years – Milanovic said before the party`s Main Committee was to hold its sitting on Saturday.
Looking back on the local elections, which will be held on the third Sunday in May, Milanovic said the SDP has done a lot, presented the people and the programme which it plans to introduce to the public.
- I don`t wish to boast with victory or humiliate the rival. This has never been SDP`s style, I am more prone to saying that we have the right to a mistake, but the SDP does not have that right at the moment. Transparency, honesty and people`s integrity must not be questioned, we have to depend on ourselves. We won`t make promises of triumph, but I promise we will fight honourably, 24 hours a day. The SDP always plays to win – president of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) Zoran Milanovic concluded.
