ZAGREB, CROATIA - Zagreb’s mayor Milan Bandic organized his traditional new year hosting of foreign diplomats in Croatia. As he said in his speech, in January 1992, 40 nations, including all EU nations, recognized the newly created Republic of Croatia.
“You are well informed of the numerous hardships that have come to us. Today, 17 years later, when we are on the verge of adulthood, we have reached a new phase of development for Zagreb” said Zagreb’s mayor in his introductory speech.
He stressed Croatia’s yearning to enter the European Union and added that he hopes that Croatia will soon achieve its aim. The capital city of Croatia is being built and is prospering, stressed Bandic.
“I call upon you to nurture our relations and friendship, the true friendship between our cities, citizens, people and state. Your Excellency, welcome to Zagreb, the city of friendship” said Bandic.
Citizens of Zagreb, in the future, progress like a strong family
A representative from the foreign diplomats, in very good Croatian, thanked Zagreb’s mayor for his nice wishes and his nice wishes, and organization of the traditional new year’s hosting.
He wished all citizens of Zagreb to progress like a strong family that lies on strong foundations.
He told Zagreb’s mayor that diplomats closely monitor the efforts that he is taking with his associates in ensuring care for those who need it the most.
“I happily stress the efforts that you are taking for improving the economic, health and cultural life of Zagreb” he concluded.
All foreign diplomats answered mayor Milan Bandic’s invitation and attended the event, amongst which were: the ambassador of the United States of America Robert A.
