Laptalo arrived in Dubrovnik where thousands of citizens welcomed him home in order to offer support and talk with him.

The captain did not like the plane flight, and even spent most of the flight in the pilot’s cabin because he complained that he did not feel well.

-.-Amalija Šašek-.-At the beginning of the flight, the pilot greeted all of the passengers especially captain Laptalo, to whom he wished a good trip and to have a good time when he finally gets arrives home.

Captain Laptalo was lost in his thoughts for most of the trip, and looked out the window. However, his mood improved when he arrived at Stradun where around 4,000 people welcomed him, according to estimates.

Many people wanted to approach him, greet him and congratulate him for finally being free.

Besides numerous citizens, the captain was welcomed by the president of the sea farers union Vladimir Svalin, as well as Predrag Brazzoduro with his family, who just laughed when he was asked how he feels and said that he was happy.

-.-Z.T.-.-Laptalo held a long emotive speech in which he mentioned that he, even as the captain of a ship, could not know what is in every package that he carries.

“Nobody in Europe would eat bananas if I searched every box” said Laptalo.

He also said that he will no longer be setting sail from Dubrovnik’s port and that he is going to retire.

Take a look at the photo gallery from the welcoming:
