PhotoA week after Javno news site`s second birthday, we had another celebration – Lajla Mlinaric and Warren Blake got married. Congratulations!
ZAGREB, CROATIA – Editorial office of the Javno news site is full of working spirit, at times tensions and pressures, but it is now a fact that it is full of love as well. Our editor of the English section of the website, Lajla Mlinaric and computer wiz Warren Anthony Blake got married on Monday at the Zagreb City Hall.
They kept their love secret for months, in order to miss the strict eye of the deputy editor-in-chief,
who banned mixing business with pleasure at work. However, something as juicy as this is hard to hide in company of keen journalists. Soon, their walks after working hours were deciphered and Lajla and Warren, had to come clean.
Of course, nobody minded their relationship and they were free to additionally heat things up. Our brave Briton was right to move to Zagreb four years ago, a strange city to him at the time, with an even stranger language.
Let`s get back to the story. The youthful Englishman and the woman with a look which states she gets anything she wants, got engaged last summer, which was a surprise for many. Probably for themselves as well, because everything happened so fast, but they felt it had to be that way. They wished it so.
To make things faster then fast, Warren Anthony took care of his citizenship papers and the wedding plans could begin. A wedding date was promptly set, January 19, 2009. Needless to say, inviting other editorial office colleagues, they both giggled like lovebirds, which was real refreshment in these dull winter days.
Their big day came along and we say another side of them at the City Hall. Otherwise a modern casual dresser, Warren looked smooth and exceptionally serious in a suit, while Lajla shone in a wonderful dress, which left many breathless.
Editorial office colleagues, headed by editor-in-chief and his deputy observed as the couple carefully listened the words of the registrar and nodded their heads. Carefully chosen best man and maid of honour were next to them, translator Karmen Horvat and former translator George Alessandro Laidlaw, also quite excited with their task of special significance.
After wise words and exchanged rings, the couple kissed for the first time as husband and wife with exceptionally loud and long applause. They deserved it and may they be happy in their life together”
