Student body representatives spoke with the dean, who accepted their demands in their entirety.

SPLIT, CROATIA - After the Faculty of Philosophy in Split joined the protest of students for free education, the Faculty of Law joined in as well. The students started gathering on Monday morning and as they blocked the faculty at 9 a.m., some 200 students were present.-.-Ernest Pelaić-.-

It seems that the “lawyers” were better organised than the “philosophers”, which is normal, seeing how they paid attention to their colleagues` work. They were less nervous, they did not shun reporters. And it seems that the Faculty of Law students smiled a bit more.

Student body representatives spoke with the dean, Boris Buklijas, who accepted their demands in their entirety.

- Yes, I can confirm that I spoke with the students. To our mutual satisfaction, an agreement has been arranged. Only lectures will be obstructed, while all other activities will be taking place normally, which includes exams. We, as the faculty, have secured a room on the first floor, which they can use for sleeping, we bought them some milk, cookies, drinking water and sheets in case it gets cold. The most important thing is to preserve their health, God Forbid should someone fall ill or catch a cold. We are here because of them and one has to respect this. After all, they are all our children – dean Boris Buklijas said.

Do you agree with their demands on scholarships being revoked?

- I agree. In the end, my generation graduated completely free of charge, who knows where would I be today if I had to pay for my educations. Many intellectuals would not be here today. The most important thing is for this bloc to be peaceful and tolerant. They have presented their code to me and I completely agree. If they stick to the agreement, they have my full support.-.-Ernest Pelaić-.-

Have you handed over the keys to the building to the protestors?

- No, this would be a circus. They can stay in their faculty`s building how long they want and there is no need to leave them keys, they are reasonable young people and such formalities are truly not necessary – the dean concluded.

Otherwise, it should be pointed out that the Kinesiology students in Split have done the same at noon.
