DOWNTOWNERS

The sun has caused reactions. Shorts and sandals were the main combination Zagreb’s residents wore downtown.
ZAGREB, CROATIA - The work week is over and it is time to rest. The weekend is probably the favourite part of the week for many of Zagreb’s residents: it is time to wear their best combinations, walking downtown and exchanging the newest gossip with their friends.
Even though last week downtown Zagreb was marked with various clothing combinations, from boots and jeans to scarves and gloves, this Saturday was totally different. Spring has won and winter has ended.
A lot could be seen in downtown Zagreb at Cvjetni Square and Tkalciceva Street. The sun, besides improving the mood and bringing optimism, has prompted many of Zagreb’s residents to expose themselves to its rays.
Short shorts and sandals decorated downtown
As far as clothing combinations are concerned, there were many various types. Soft soled shoes, big bags and printed shirts, it seems, are the hit of the season. The temperature of 26 degrees Celsius was more than enough to take the shorts and sandals out of the wardrobe.
Of course, an important detail are sunglasses. There were various sizes, colours and shapes, and some could serve to hide poor makeup on the eyelashes.
The weather was totally working for the downtowners. The wind decided to rest so that the girls could enjoy their hairstyles, and those in airy dresses did not have to worry that they would show more than they want.
Some have decided to combine comfort and practicality, and show their sporty spirit, by coming to downtown Zagreb on their bikes.
