PHOTO: Thousands Masked at Children’s Carnival

The children´s carnival is dedicated to children, who have the opportunity to participate in workshops where they can become anything.

SAMOBOR, CROATIA - As a part of the 183^rd Samobor Carnival, this weekend the most imaginative, nicest and happiest Children’s Carnival took place. Around 10 thousand children and parents dressed in fancy dress gathered at King Tomislav Square, which is the city’s main square.

So with the beautiful weather, the city was flooded with numerous fairies, princesses, witches and wizards, small animals, trees, clowns and numerous other imaginative creations.

Equally interesting program next weekend

The Children’s Carnival is totally dedicated to children, who have the opportunity to participate in various art workshops, where they can become anything they want, putting on various coloured masks and materials.

However, the program of the Samobor Carnival continues every day, and it will be the most interesting for the weekend again. On February 21, the main city square will have live performances by many groups and bands like: DV Ivancica - Ivanska, Igraonica Pinokio - Karlovac, DV Zeko - Varazdin, DV Smokvica - Zapresic, URIP djece SRCE - Novaki Bistranski, DZ Bajka, DZ Bim bam bom, Plesna skupina Sonje Del - Stari Grad, Djecje selo Lekenik, DZ Sareni svijet.

The day after that, on Sunday February 22, the children will be able to participate in an orientation race “Srakotrk” that will last from 11pm to 1pm. Immediately after that the Children’s Ball will take place on the main stage, where every child can show their mask, and the best masked family will be chosen, the youngest mask, the most original mask, and a special guest will be Jacques Houdek.
